Marketing Up: How to Promote Relations between a ccTLD and
Government
The purpose of the training session is to share a set of techniques which
should help ccTLDs navigate their way in a very complex environment and
effectively communicate with government agencies.
For the start, Joe Alagna (Afilias) will share some universal
marketing principles and techniques that are applicable and relevant in the
context of GR.
After that, Mr. Ian Hanke, a renowned Australian expert in GR and
Communications, will walk the audience through crisis communication principles and
instruments in dealing with Government.
During the concluding session, Leonid Todorov, GM APTLD, will
share practical tips and tricks, and offer a drill to simulate a real-life
situation and to help the trainees recap on the knowledge gained.

Training Session Day 2
Cybersecurity: Securing Registry IT Systems And Security Incidents
Management
Delivered by a tandem of seasoned IT professionals from the .LK Domain
Registry and TechCERT Sri Lanka, this workshop will enhance APTLD Members’
technical
staff’sknowledge and hands-on experience in handling a cyberattack on a domain
registry’s IT infrastructure on the basis on a simulated attack.
Four 1.5h-long sessions will walk the trainees through security of IT systems and
DNS; some possible attacks and ways to detect, identify and mitigate them; and
post-
attack recovery action plans.
As well, while handling a simulated attack, they will work in teams to identify
and
respond to the attack, with the best performing team earning a special award :-)
.
Trainees are expected to possess a working experience in managing IT systems
including registration systems, DNS management, and to be involved in
cybersecurity
operation. They are also expected to have laptops configured with predefined
tools/OS/Applications which they will be suggested to download shortly before
APTLD77.
